Craft Yarn Co.
We are fanatics about fiber. We’re crazy for crochet and knuts about knitting. We’re even fabulous felters and terrific at tunisian. As a local yarn shop, we offer many events and fun activities to our community. As an international brand, we offer excellent products to crafters around the world. Specializing in natural fibers, hand-dyed yarns, and high quality accessories, we stock a range of supplies that you will love using for all your knit and crochet crafts. Our passion is contagious, so stop by and catch the crafting bug!
We opened our doors in June of 2017 in Rome, GA. We have made the difficult decision to pack up and move southward. Our new shop will be opening soon in Cobb County, GA. Specifics about the location will be released as soon as they are set in stone.
Meet our Team!
My name is Barrie Turney and I am the proprietor of Craft Yarn Co. I am a knitting and yarn fanatic. My grandmother was generous and patient enough to teach me to knit when I was a young teen. I was born and raised in Georgia and am excited to be a businessperson in my home state. I am also happy to have the absolute best group of friendstomers (friends/customers) on the planet.
Kim Alleyne is our expert crochet instructor, meme lover, and comic relief. Originally hailing from Barbados, she grew up in New Jersey and moved to Georgia in 2002. She learned to crochet in 2010 as a way to relax and fell in love with the craft. She now also enjoys Tunisian crochet, knitting, and yarn dying. She’s a patient and informative instructor, unless you are her relative (just ask her niece).
Branch Nolan is our social media coordinator. We try to stay fresh and relevant, and Branch is young and hip. He regularly works the sales floor, so you may meet him in the shop if you’re lucky. He and the store manager, Hairy Pawter, are very good friends and he happens to be the nephew of proprietor, Barrie.
Hairy Pawter is the store manager here at Craft Yarn Co. When he’s at work, he enthusiastically greets customers and shows them the store. You’ll get extra great service if you’ve brought a treat.
